Domestic and Global analyst firm should not be optimistic
about Indian Wireless Userbase post user growth data release by TRAI for Sept
2016.
One must be thinking that I am talking absurd but my
forecast will come true.
Post launch of Reliance Jio service, jio acquired around 16
million userbase and around 80 to 85 % userbase are existing wireless userbase.
Around 15% of the users are carrying or buying new devices to get their 4G
service enabled. We also know that more than 70% of the Indian Smartphone comes
out with double SIM.
Interestingly, Reliance jio made it mandatory to place
reliance jio SIM on device slot 1 which will make Reliance services as primary
service providers. The end users are also not surrendering their existing
wireless connection with existing incumbent operator and that will lead to
higher number of userbase.
We all know that Indian wireless subscribers
Base is kissing billion mark and post Sept 2016 wireless userbase data release
by TRAI, the total number of connection will show encouraging growth. In my
point of view, post field channel check, we call such increase in userbase as
virtual. We all should expect the single high digit growth in wireless userbase
which is nothing but virtual.
