Reliance Jio and Incumbent Mobile operators are at loggerhead on the issue of call failure. Reliance Jio want more number of PoI at govt rates coupled with Bill and keep mechanism which is not acceptable to Incumbent mobile operators. Incumbent Mobile operators specially mentioned that the problem is at Reliance jio technical end and at the same time they agreed to release more number of PoI's to Reliance Jio.
Both the parties met TRAI official and put across their concern followed by complete in sync agreement between Reliance Jio and rest.
TRAI asked the parties to submit the daily call drop report to analyze the issues. It is very difficult to understand the real function of TRAI. Generally they take more than 4 weeks to respond On major issue and in this scenario they came out with their recommendation within 3 weeks and that too to recover $456 million for call drop.
Failed to understand that what TRAI think of incumbent mobile operators? In my point of view, it is the pressure game of Reliance jio which prompted TRAI to be efficient and effective but they don't understand the cascading impact of the same.
I also believe that they will be that efficient against the peaky callers violating their esteemed users privacy.
TRAI should learn from their recommendation of 700 MHz band reserve price recommendations and subsequently response from Telecom players.
I also believe that TRAI will act with same speed in other cases also.
