Government of India placed huge spectrum across frequency band. The Incumbent and Reliance Jio fighting to garner sufficient spectrum to ensure better QoS for their users.
The first few day auction indicated that high reserve price expectation from the most efficient frequency band of 700 MHz received no bid from the Telecom players. The government expectation of $85 Bn through ongoing spectrum sale is nothing but the over expectation.
In my point of view, Telecom players are bidding very cautiously given their leveraged balance sheet. Government should be happy if they receive bids in between $ 25 Bn to $ 27 Bn.
