Airtel and Idea launched free voice centric two plan whereas Vodafone also joined the game. Based on the ARPU of incumbent operator, the plan will help them to achieve their ARPU and it will not be ARPU dilutive. As I wrote in my previous articles when Reliance Jio launched its service that incumbent will review Reliance Jio service before launching onslaught and yesterday they did it. Reliance jio in the absence for good QoS and to keep its user intact extended the free service by next three months. Once, Reliance Jio will start charging then most of its free lunch oriented user will get disappeared. As Reliance jio offered free voice service for lifetime and only data will be launched will impact their revenue stream. Free voice call will force Reliance jio to pay. 14 paisa per minute to other service provider where call will be terminated will reduce revenue stream and will impact distant profitability probability.
It will be interesting to see how Reliance Jio react to Incumbent move
